Elizabeth Amy (Kirby) Snodgrass and her children.

Hello and welcome to Snodgrass Footprints.  My name is Omer Leslie Snodgrass II.   My wife Catherine and I live in Twentynine Palms, California.  I am a genealogist and  she is a romance author.

My primary surnames of interest are:

SNODGRASS, KIRBY, STOHR, STOEHR, STARR, DeLAY, THOMAS, ALLER, OLLER, SETZER, TALBOTT, OAKMAN, EYER, McDOUGAL, HOBART, LaHUE, LEHEW, FLESHMAN, ROSSMÜLLER, ROSSMILLER, REMMERS.

However, I also research many other related surnames.  My Snodgrass line currently goes back to John Snodgrass who is said to have been born in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania on 9 January 1818.   John married Elizabeth Amy Kirby on 6 March 1851 in Champaign County, Ohio.   John and Elizabeth had ten children, all of whom lived to adulthood. They were:

  1. Thomas Eldrege Snodgrass
    b. 15 Feb 1852, Urbana, Champaign County, Illinois
  2. Laura Almeda Snodgrass
    b. 10 Feb 1854, Champaign County, Ohio
  3. Sarah Hannah Snodgrass
    b. 12 May 1856, Shelby County, Ohio
  4. Price Lafayette Snodgrass
    b. 18 Jan 1858, Ohio
  5. Mary Olivia Snodgrass
    b. 6 Aug 1861, Shelby County, Ohio
  6. John Grant Snodgrass
    b. 3 Nov 1864, Logan County, Ohio
  7. Julia Jane Snodgrass
    b. 8 Nov 1866, Logan County, Ohio
  8. Edith Lizzie Snodgrass
    b. 18 Aug 1871, Logan County, Ohio
  9. Edwin Forrest Snodgrass
    b. 18 Aug 1871, Logan County, Ohio
  10. Erroll Kirby Snodgrass
    b. 2 May 1874, Nemaha County, Nebraska

John, Elizabeth, and family moved to Nemaha County, Nebraska in March of 1872.   Both John and Elizabeth remained in Nemaha County and their graves can be found in the Johnson Cemetery, Johnson, Nemaha County, Nebraska.

My most perplexing research problem is finding John's parents.
